Chapter 3,page 26,line 8
PIZENED-
it wrote that “‘Almost died first year I come to school and eat et them pecans-folks say he pizened ‘em and put ‘em over on the school side of the fence.”‘
Who is the he?
clue:someone did something to the pecans
What are pecans?
clue:something you eat
Who is speaking -the I in the sentence?
What did the Isaid almost happened to him after he ate it?
Where did the pecans come from?clue:found on the ground
nuts-eating them should NOT KILL anyone right?Someone(he) did something to nuts.So when you eat it,you could die from it right.
What did this person do to the nuts?
clue:the book says pizened so can u tell me who is this person who OTHERS SAY pizened the nuts(he – one person – a man)he is a monster,crazy and dangerous
So can you guys guess what they say he did to the nuts?

TOUCHOUS-
What’s the clue(a word) from the sentence?‘Atticus was still touchous about her’Who is her?
think of words that end with ous(verb+ous)
EXAMPLE of word is ZEALOUS
it comes from the word zeal
then touchous is the same
what is zealous in grammar
dictionary will tell you like V – verb,n – noun(etc)
(zealous is an adjective)adjectives – describes feelings/attitude so touchous is a feeling/attitude atticus have towards scout right
(so we need to find out what feeling)that feeling equals to the meaning of touchous
when scout asked if atticus saw Arthur,he was angry because he warned them not to make fun of Boo or disturb him right.Then Jem stopped Scout from asking any more questions right
he said Atticus was still touchous abt us and the Radleys’so we know touchous is a feeling or attitude’can we guess now what feeling/attitude is atticus showing to the kids
Was he pleased with them for asking about Arthur and the Radleys?SO what does touchous mean?

He is refering to Boo.Radley
It’s nuts are tasty and delicious and has a buttery taste .
I is refering to Walter .
He almost died after eating the nuts .
The nuts came from the school other side of the fence .
Boo.Radley could have put some poison in it . Or he could have put in some chemicals while growing the crops . Thus , when eaten , it could cause DEATH

He said it as pizened because as you know , pizened wasnt a common word used . Thus , it give us reader something different by just saying it was poisoned . Poison doesnt really us that image of something really bad . Poisoning might has an antitode .

she is LITERATE – she can read and write
her father taught her because her father is educated – a lawyer

Walter’s father is a farmers
inferring why walter can’t pronounce the word posoined
is because he was poor and his father did not educate him
so he mispronounces his words
sometimes he also uses wrong words or grammar

get angry, displeased and lose his temper
touchous – actually the right word is TOUCHY
we don’t use touchous now

Jem is a boy so he is not as careful with his language as his sister and his sister is the one that likes to read,so his sister is better with language’

hey who says u can educate yourself? What’s the LOGIC in that? A little boy ( primary sch age) teaching himself? He must be a genius! Or is father must be very educated
Sometimes, I do’t understand how simple common sense eludes you?
Right to point out he missed grade one exam – that already tells you Walter NOT like Scout – scout is so gd at reading that her teacher gets angry with her
If u compare the way they speak – u will realise that those who are more educated like atticus speaks differently from less educated like cunninghams and ewells
After all how much education can farmers have?
It’s like some of you – pronouncing words wrongly, using wrong grammar or even wrong word and u pple are getting an education!!!

He cannot educate himself.Walter’s teacher,who educated him.
That is why he was sent to school,but no one teaches him.While Scout is being teach by her teacher and also her father,Atticus.
Farmers cannot get much education.
